IntelliJ 13 - Add Back / Forward Navigation to Toolbar?

Jetbrains changed toolbars in IntelliJ 13.

The back and forward arrows shown here were used to be on the top toolbar and easily switch.

back / forward Now the only way to find these fields is to go to navigation → Back or Navigation → Forward.

Does anyone know how to add these places back / forward to the toolbar always visible , how they were located in IntelliJ 12?

I am using Idea 13, and my toolbar already has these buttons:

IntelliJ 13 Toolbar

Icon Groups:

file | cancel / redo | cut / copy / paste | font size | back / forward | compile / run | vcs | config | Help | jira | Tasks

You should look at the back / forward buttons in the 5th group.

If you want the toolbar to be visible, this is one of the checked options in the view menu.

For some reason, the toolbar is not displayed by default.

From the View menu, select Toolbar. That should fix it.

IntelliJ IDEA 15

Show toolbar

  • Method 1

    • View> Toolbar

      enter image description here

  • Method 2

    • Press Shift 2 times> write “toolbar” and press “switch button” to change “OFF” to “ON”:

      enter image description here

The toolbar already contains the Back and Forward buttons.

Customize Toolbar

  • Method 1

    • File> Settings ...> Appearance and behavior> Menus and toolbars> Main toolbar> select one line and click "Add after ..." if you want to add a new button (for example: if you accidentally deleted the button "Forward" "and you want to come back)

enter image description here enter image description here enter image description here

  • Method 2

    • Right-click on the toolbar> Customize Menu and Toolbars ...

      enter image description here

    • Use the approach described in method 1

Conan's answer helped me with the same problem. 2Conan - make your comment as an answer. This helps in TS matters. Just post your answer exactly here ...

OK, you can do it. Turn on the toolbar, View > Toolbar . Right-click and select Customize Menus and Toolbars . In the Navigation Bar Toolbar folder, add the icons from Main menu > Navigate > Back / Forward , select "OK", then open the toolbar again and again using View > Toolbar .

Just go to the "View" tab and check the "Toolbar" box.

* it should be noted that the shortcut keys (ctrl + alt + left / right) do not work
