Azure SDK 2.5.1 for vs2013 update notification always exists

I installed Azure SDK 2.5.1 from the package downloaded from the Microsoft website and the installation is complete. However, in VS2013, the Extensions and Updates dialog box still displays an update notification for Azure 2.5.1.

I did not install it correctly?

You are not the only one who has this problem (me too). I found the thread on the MSDN forums ( "Problems installing Azure SDK 2.5.1" ), but so far (as of 1 hour. Day on 4/4) I have not found anyone with the published solution yet.

Here is one of the ways that worked for me.

  • After the installation of the platform installer failed, click "Click here to see the additional software that will be installed and view the Microsoft license terms associated with it."

  • In the new window, click "Direct download link" for each listed component. Each click will download the installer. Launch it, then click on the direct download link below. Install. Repeat until all elements are installed.

  • Launch VS 2013 and everything will be there. You will have the Quick Starts and the "Azure API App (Preview)" referenced by this short tutorial.
