Top CSS Color Wheel Sites

Which sites do you recommend looking for free colors for website design? It would also be useful to enter a hexadecimal or RGB value, and the color wheel will return complementary colors.

Adobe Kuler - http://kuler.adobe.com/

widely recognized as the best choice for a color palette, as it also allows you to share color palettes created by other users. Log in, click “Create,” and you will have options, including “advanced,” that give you a good starting point if you have one color in mind.

http://www.colorschemer.com has an online gallery of color schemes.

They also have a free desktop application called ColorPix :

I love colourlovers.com . This is a great community and a great idea, although it’s not really “spitting back” as you were looking. A community that contributes to this gives a lot of complementary colors, though.

I am a big fan of the color scheme designer ...

http://colorschemedesigner.com/

From the Lifehacker article ...

You can create single monochromatic, free, triad, exercise books, analog and accented analog color palettes. You can mimic color visual disturbances to see how your design colors will look - they even listed the percentage of people suffering from disorders. The preview function fills the dummy web page with your color scheme, which is a convenient tool for viewing how your chosen colors go together with the palette.

While the page simulator is really a great trick, the best feature of Color Scheme Designer is the ability to export your palette not only as the Photoshop Palette - a common limitation of many network generators, but HTML + CSS, XML, TXT and GPL (palettes for GIMP).

I like Adobe www.kuler.com ... if you sign up, you can download the palettes as Adobe Swatch files and use them in Creative Suite products.

Although it's really just a search tool for custom palettes ... maybe not quite what you are looking for.

I think this is very good: http://www.gpeters.com/color/color-schemes.php .

All you have to do is write a keyword and let Yahoo! to select a color scheme.

I like Colr.org . It does not have a color wheel, but it does have some really interesting features. You can select a color scheme from the image, tag colors and color schemes, and even search by tags. This is good for inspiration.
