Convert PST to CSV file

Does anyone know of a good tool that converts .pst files to CSV files via the command line?

I need to do this programmatically!

I have not seen anything useful in MailNavigator or Wikipedia ...

Can you assume that Outlook is installed on the computer? If so, I believe it could be a background script using OLE or something like that. I did the file conversion through Excel using Ruby this way.

And here is a Perl example

The solution I just came across is: libpst

Obviously, it does not convert directly to CSV, but converts to a more manageable format.

Importing to Outlook and then exporting as CSV is still probably the fastest solution, but libpst will certainly be useful if you have a PST file and Outlook.

once? or programmatically?

if only once, import into the mail program that processes mbox (for example, Thunderbird), after which you have only text files, manipulate as desired.

otherwise, I donโ€™t know, good luck.

You can always write a .Net application using CDO, MAPI, OOM or Redemption, which does what you need. I wrote a complete exporter export tool for my company, which you can view at http://www.tzunami.com
