Github for Mac: Missing Pull Request Button

On Saturday, I installed Github Desktop on my Mac and tried the Github workflow. Created a branch, made changes, and made a Pull request. Everything worked.

Today I installed Github for Mac to work - and the Pull request button cannot be found. I will return home now on my own Mac, and the button is missing here now.

As you can see in the last screenshot, the branch runs on github.com and is ready for PR. Also, points on Github for the desktop timeline (top right) are small, which means commits are pushed. And there are changes to the dev branches (second screenshots).

Am I doing something wrong?

Update: maybe my branch is not suitable for PR? Since the menu item is also grayed out:

I have two branches, they made (and pushed) the differences ... hm.

Another way to do this (this worked for me) is to go to:

Settings> Sign Out> Sign In (again)

This way you will reset your Github desktop (donโ€™t worry. You wonโ€™t lose anything :))

I finally understood. As you can see in the screenshots, my repository is marked as "different". This is because it was already on my machine, and I did not clone it in Github for Desktop. I just added it.

I cloned this repository as follows

https://githubusername:githubpassword@github.com/organization/repo.git

This URL as remote.origin.url is probably not handled by Github for Desktop, so Repo is marked as โ€œdifferentโ€.

Weird I canceled my repositories and now everything is working fine.
