Is it possible to use the "main view" of the CME SDL Tridion 2011 CME by default instead of the control panel?

SDL Tridion 2011 introduced a new control panel (or control panel) in the CME. In the User Preferences > View Settings section of this page, the user can change the initial view to load the main view, not the control panel. Is it possible to set this as a system setting for all users?

We are interested in this because we have a default user page that we want our editors to see, but this page no longer loads due to the default loading of the control panel.

We can do this in the settings for each user:

  • Install: Screen Displayed after starting SDL Tridion on the main screen
  • Leave Start on specific folder unselected.
  • Right-click one custom page and set it to default .

This user will now open Tridion on this user page by default.

However, I saw that organizations want to set this up for all users without having to do it manually. I was able to do this on my personal virtual machine, but I can not recommend it for the production environment:

In %TRIDION_HOME%\web\WebUI\Editors\CME\Configuration\CME.config set the following to the URI of the user page.

 <settings> <defaultpage>/Views/Dashboard/Dashboard.aspx#locationId=cme:0-1-custompg</defaultpage> <navigatorurl>/Views/Dashboard/Dashboard.aspx#locationId=cme:0-1-custompg</navigatorurl> ... </settings>

So yes, it is possible to install at least this version of SDL Tridion by default. But I'm not sure about the support.
