Java Swing deprecated in favor of JavaFx 2.0

Will I fix that Oracle rejected Swing and that JavaFx 2.0 is the official replacement?

This makes sense to me because it would seem dumb for the oracle to support the development of two competing api that do almost the same thing. However, Oracle introduced improvements in java 7 swing api, such as translucent windows, shaped windows, etc. I suppose this may be for transitional purposes, but still I would really appreciate it if someone could understand me, what is the current “standard” or “best option” for new applications - Swing or javafx 2.0? Another source of unanswered questions is the fate of Java 2D. Is it worth it to learn this API now that the other Prism graphics engine, uunderlies JavaFx 2.0?

Thanks a lot Mark
