Convert apk to zip flashable in clockWorkMod?

How can I convert apk to zip flashable in clockWorkMod? I tried using ApkInstaller. This did not work. Keep getting the error; "installation aborted".

You can simply change the .apk extension of your application to .zip. Then put the .zip on your SD card and see if you can blink with CWM.
