Eclipse Double Click Line Number for Breakpoint

This is probably one of the stupidest questions you will find on StackOverflow, but I really can't find the problem here.

I am running Eclipse 3.7.2 (I20110613-1736) (Ubuntu version 12.04 LTS). After the latest updates, my org.eclipse.wst.jsdt.core.jsNature projects fail to switch breakpoints when double-clicking on line numbers. Instead, he makes a bookmark and asks for the name of the bookmark.

Breakpoints work fine, and I can add them with Ctrl+Shift+B , but after a few years of habit I continue to bookmark because I want to double-click.

There is no option to assign mouseclicks (AFAIK) in the GeneralKeys settings dialog box, so these settings do not seem to have changed.

I experienced the same problem and found my answer here: Unable to set breakpoints in Eclipse

For some reason, my file is opened using a regular eclipse text editor. I closed my file by right-clicking on it in the package explorer → Open with → Java Editor, and the breakpoints work fine again.

I saw this sometimes for me, but I did not understand in what conditions. You can simply right-click the line number and select the "Toggle Breakpoint" option in the context menu that opens.

just edit something in the file (add a space, delete that space, and then save the file). Toggle breakpoints will work again.
