What to use as NOOP in PostgreSQL?

I need a placeholder while I'm developing some stored procedures in PostgreSQL 8.4. I usually use some kind of executable noop (one that is not going to generate an error when trying to execute it), but based on a quick exam in PostgreSQL, there is no such function. What are the alternatives?
