I installed Eclipse 4.2 (Juno) and am trying to get Subclipse to work. I used the 1.8.x update site:
http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.8.x
Installation is not a problem. Here it looks like installed:

However, despite the fact that it is installed, there are no signs in Eclipse except the page of the above packages. There are no SVN prospects, nothing in the settings menu, nothing in the context menu in the "Team ..." section, no SVN annotations for my projects.
I had this problem with earlier versions of Eclipse when using Subclipse, but it usually got deleted after I uninstalled all Subclipse and reinstalled it. However, several attempts to do this did not correct this situation, so I'm not sure what is happening.
As you can see, very little is set - only m2e and subtitle.
EDIT: I realized that I have two different versions of m2e installed - the one that comes with eclipse and the version that I installed from the update URL. When I uninstalled the one I installed, Subclipse started working again. Obviously, some strange conflicts between different plugins caused this problem. However, I'm not sure the best way to fix situations like this in the future is where is the error and / or other logs to check when something might break?
