Sync templates with search and replace

When I search and replace text in my Expressionengine templates using Tools> Data> Search and Replace, it does not sync with files.

Has anyone else had this? I assume this is not a big problem, as you can easily search and replace in files.

Can you use the Sync Templates tool (in the Design-> Templates menu) to synchronize templates?
