How can I tell Google Chrome to use a larger icon for application shortcuts?

Google Chrome allows you to save websites as application shortcuts with an icon on the user's desktop. Unfortunately, the icon that he adds to the desktop is an extended version of version 16x16. An icon is an icon file that contains images in several resolutions and is stored in the root directory of a website. No code in the site title mentions an icon. The icon file itself seems to work. IE displays large icons very well.

Has anyone had the same problem?

I have found a word for this. Not very convincing. Websites such as Gmail, Google Search, Google Drive, etc., Can be added as applications (these are just shortcuts / links) from the Chrome Web Store. (Some of them come by default with the installation of Google Chrome)

Install chrome launcher from here: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/launcher Open the chrome launcher from the Windows taskbar. Select the website shortcut / application and drag it to the taskbar. You now have a higher resolution icon.

Just put this HTML on your webpage:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon">

This tells Chrome that it should use the whole file, and not convert 16x16 to large sizes.
