Football (soccer) Data Sources / API

Question

I am looking for football data such as team news, standings and results.

I contacted Opta , but their prices are crazy, the package I received is £ 8,000 a season!

I would like it in the form of a database, but I would not mind if it were a web service, a text document, an API, a screen scraper, CSV, etc.
