Start debug button not available in VS2012 project

I am using visual studio 2012 and I cannot find the start button for debugging. Instead, there is a "Attach" button. How can I turn on the start button. I have only one project in the solution that I imported from vs2010. When you create a new project from scratch, Start is available.

You can solve this problem by right-clicking the project in Visual Studio and setting it as "StartUp Project".

I had this problem, and it turned out that although the status bar was empty, it was still building (slowly updating).
