Gruntjs vs yeoman vs guard

I am currently using guard to view changes to .coffee and .scss files and compile them accordingly.

Now, gruntjs and yeoman offer similar features.

  • What would be the incentive to move from guard to gruntjs or yoman?
  • What are the benefits of using yoman vs gruntjs or vice versa?

Thanks!

They have completely different goals.

Security is comparable to the grunt grunt-contrib-watch task, which runs tasks when files change.

Grunt is a task-based build tool that abstracts out boring work in reusable tasks, so you don't need to reinvent the wheel in every project. You can do much more than just watch the change. You can concatenate, minimize JS / CSS, compile CoffeeScript / LESS / Sass, etc.

Yeomen relies on grunts and other tools and provides a stubborn workflow for building front-end web applications. This is much more than just grunting.
