Xcode cannot update team provisioning profile

When upgrading to Organizer, I get the following error message:

You are not allowed to perform this operation. Please contact one of your administrators, or if you need further assistance, contact Apple Developer Support. http://developer.apple.com/support

The problem for me was that my Apple ID was still a fake user for the developer account of one of my past clients (and it seems he did not have permission to create a team preparation profile). After they removed my superorado role in their account, I could update the team preparation profile without any problems.
