Dynamics CRM 2011 Client and Browser Prospects

So, with Dynamics CRM 2011 you can use the browser client or the Outlook client .

They look very similar, which makes me think that Outlook Client should use Internet Explorer (or its components) to display most of the pages. I tried to find out if this was so, without much success. So my question is:

Is Outlook Client for Dynamics CRM 2011 somehow transferred to page transfer in Internet Explorer?
If so, it is affected by the version of Internet Explorer installed on the PC (7,8,9, etc.), Or it uses the separate Trident rendering engine built into Outlook (and thus it will remain the same if you update IE on PC).

Edit: I specifically look at Outlook 2007 if that matters

Full page forms in Outlook are displayed by IE. All current CRM versions use IE7 or IE in compatibility mode for IE8.

UR11 contains many fixes for compatibility issues with IE10.

I know an old question, but if someone asks a question, this is a message that returns "window.navigator.userAgent" in Outlook 2010:

Mozilla / 4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident / 6.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; .NET4. 0C; .NET4.0E)
