What are the pros and cons of using an open open graph distribution feed dialog? It seems that they are doing more or less the same thing - publishing news on the user's timeline and, possibly, news feeds of their friends. The Feed dialog is more intrusive in the sense that it has a facebook popup. Other than that, is there a difference in how facebook displays / prioritizes the two?

The main difference is how it fits your custom travel.

The Feed dialog does not require the user to fully install your application, while the Open Graph solution requires your user to install your application and also provide advanced permission, so there are two pop-up dialogs with a typical 50% shutdown.

I wonder why the vast majority of applications that want me to tell a story use the graphAPI approach? What are the benefits that make me extend permissions?

Perhaps they expect that if I want to jump over hoops, for the first time I’m more likely to tell stories in the future and / or let them publish on my behalf.
