Is there a Youtube API that only provides audio?

I searched this question several times

Many suggested "get both audio and video." And hide the video. and said that "there is no audio API only"

But this requires more traffic than when only audio is extracted if I want to listen to music through Youtube.

What scares me, an Android app called Firetube only provides audio.

Is this just a trick or is Google providing an API for AUDIO only?

Yes, it is certainly possible, here is the API for this:

Despite the fact that this contradicts the YouTube Terms of Service, it’s technically possible to hack the link to download only audio, as well as how the API works above.

Use the YouTube YouTube API. The iframe code generates download buttons in different qualities, and it's free and without ads.

Well, I know its old thread, but still I'm sending my answer because it hasn't been answered yet.

I know its youtube policy for downloading videos, but there is a way to download youtube videos as an audio / mp 3 file.

First of all: http://api.youtube6download.top These guys will give you the easiest way to convert yt to mp3 using HTML LINK, Javascript / iframe widgets there.

I also saw their APIs listed on the mashape link: https://market.mashape.com/CoolGuruji/youtube-to-mp3-download

All you need to enter the youtube video id will extract / convert the video in audio format.

It is not an official API for youtube itself.

I use it on my sites, it works very well for me.

I hope that this question will now be answered.

youtube-dl

This is technically possible and very easy to do with youtube-dl . Note: this is not an "api". It is not supported by Google, and it can technically be against TOS. I assume that if you have access to North Korea, this is absolutely legal .

 # Download the stream and extract the audio. youtube-dl -x # If you just need the url you can use youtube-dl -x --get-url <URL>

Update because I think no one thought it was easy. Just read it if you want to use it for private use (you know the terms youtube and the like).

After doing some research with various APIs and libraries and studying the source code, I just tried this on my own and wolla.

Simply put, only audio links are in the source page of each video.

You just need to know what you are looking for;)

Open the youtube video, browse the source of the page and find "mime% 3Daudio". There should be 5 matches, full URL, for example:
