Will the product name change?

For the next version of my iPhone application, say 1.3. I want to change the name of the product, and I keep the package identifier the same as the old version. Does this cause problems in the AppStore? that is, the application will be processed as an update or a new version? (I want my application to be considered as an update)

FYI: I change the name of the product by editing the "Product Name" parameter in the target menu.

No, if you keep the package identifier the same, it is considered the same application.

In addition, on the iTunes Connect portal, you can rename your application when you submit a new version of your application. (I did this with Sefira version 2, which I renamed " Ultimate Omer 2 ".)

Just remember that your iTunes โ€œslugโ€ (http://iTunes.com/apps/appname) remains with the first application name.

If you want to change the application name as it appears on the device, change the "Package Display Name" property in the plist info file.

No, if you keep the package identifier the same, it is considered the same application, regardless of how you change the name of your application. A binary number with a new product name will be accepted, and devices will download it as an update, as usual.

Changing the "product name" in the configuration will also change the name of the executable file. Because they used the same $ PRODUCT_NAME for the executable name. So this is a failure if I replaced the old version.

Solution I added the key "Package Display Name" in the info.plist file and entered a new value for the key.
