How to switch between Debug and Release builds in Xcode 6/7/8?

How to get Xcode to build an OS X application in release mode? I can only find instructions for earlier versions, and none of the screenshots match. I did not see anything when I added "release" to the search help menu.

In Xcode 6/7/8:

Choose Product → Schema → Change Schema . Change the Build Configuration on the Info tab.

Shortcut: hold Alt ⌥ and press the start button ▶ .

The easiest way with a project that is configured by default for schemas is to simply execute Product → Build For → Profiling.

If you want to generate a release assembly, select Product → Archive. This is a release build. You can now export the Mac OS X application.
