Windows 8 Live from NET 4.5

I created an application for the Windows Store that successfully updates its tile (live tile). I hate it now, because it seems like I can’t install this application anywhere except through the Windows Store or using a different developer account ( see This ).

Since I am looking to support only the desktop PC with this, can I work with live fragments from the general NET 4.5 application?

Or, in another way, is there a way to use / manage live fragments from applications other than Windows Store apps?

This is still too new for me ... Searching for answers on the Internet and SO showed nothing.

Live Tiles are part of the Metro Framework, completely separate from .NET. Your application is isolated when you develop the Windows Store infrastructure. no one can access your application, and you cannot access anyone else's application. The only way to update live tiles is to use the app to update their own live tiles. It would be a huge security flaw so anyone could update any stove.

If you DO NOT intend to ever send your application to the Windows Store for distribution, you can watch this thread that describes the methods used to communicate between workstations of applications and applications for Windows.
