Snooze base branch

Question

still wrapping my head around git ...

I created a response branch from another branch by mistake. Looks like that:

c1...c2 / b1...b2...b3 / a1...a2...a3...a4 

For this:

  b1...b2...b3 / a1...a2...a3...a4 \ c1...c2 

I suppose there is a way to fix this, but after a while with documents, etc. I do not see this. Thanks!

From branching c2 :

 git rebase --onto a3 b2

lets say that your branches are a, b and c if you created branch c from b instead of creating it from branch a

that's what i would do to fix it

 git rebase --onto abc
