Octopus Deploy and VPN

Does anyone know if it is possible to deploy it on a server in a VPN using Octopus Deploy? If the tentacles on the server in the VPN is there a Octopus Deploy way to connect / disconnect to the VPN?

Greetings

UPDATE

We think we found a job:

  • Install tentacles on the same server as our Octopus, and add the first step, which runs a Powershell script to create a VPN connection.
  • The next step is to deploy the NuGet package on the tentacle server in the VPN.
  • The final step is another Powershell script executed on the same tentacle server as the first step to close the connection.

Early tests seem to show this!

Kudos to my colleague Rachel for coming up with this!

It is not possible to do this at the moment if you do not establish a VPN connection yourself, and then start the Octopus deployment using Octo.exe, and then disconnect.

In the future, it would be nice to have support for opening a VPN connection in Octopus. Is your VPN session established using the components of the Windows remote access server (i.e., can this tool, for example http://dotras.codeplex.com/ open a connection?) Or is it through some special software?

You can use Hamachi for VPN - I decided to host any servers intended for deployment to the Hamachi group.

It is very easy to use and probably useful only to those who are not guided by strict IT policies, etc.

But this is probably good for most.
