Unable to change og_type

I just replaced the tumblr website for a client with a brand new Wordpress website. And when starting through the Facebook debugger , I get this error:

The object in ' http://example.com/ ' was previously of type 'tumblr-feed: tumblelog' and cannot be changed to an object of type 'website' in order to avoid data corruption of existing actions.

I Googled "Unable to change og_type" (in quotation marks) and got a literally zero result (now it seems there are results stemming from this question). Am I really doomed to Facebook data mismatch?

For the error message

... cannot be changed to an object of type 'website' to avoid data corruption of existing actions.

If og:type been changed for the URL, any existing user messages associated with it or their sharing, any Open Graph actions that link to it, as well as any URLs that it likes, will be violated, and there will be no user profiles which they posted earlier.

I do not believe that this is possible, since this is an intentional restriction so as not to violate existing messages, preferences, actions, etc. that refer to URLs. If the messages were broken, the content will be deleted or distorted in the user's timeline.

A possible workaround if you want to have a β€œnew” object on this URL is to use my instructions in this URL relocation answer to put the Like button on the URL you are trying to change (call A ), but pointing to a slightly different new URL (call him B), and then use the redirect mechanism in your answer to bounce users landing on URL B back to A, but metdata describing β€œA” on URL B if a Facebook crawler accesses it

Does the client site have more than 10,000 people? If so, Facebook does not allow og:type to be modified.

You can update the attributes of your page by updating the tags of your page. Please note that og: title and og: type are only edited initially - after your page gets 50, you like the title becomes fixed, and after your page gets 10,000 characters, the type becomes fixed. These properties are fixed to avoid unexpected users who already liked this page. Changing the title or type tags after reaching these restrictions does not mean anything, your page retains its original name and type.

Below is a link to the Open Graph documentation. :)

I would recommend using the Open Graph Debugger to check what it really sees on facebook, and if in the end Facebook will have a cached version of your site. (here you will find the hte debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug )

NO that he does not say og: type - he says og_type

This also amazes me, since my og: parameter is set to "shamrockirishbar: shamrockirishbar", but linter says that og_type (which is not in my metadata) is set to "website". enter the link here
