R Basic Guide: Literally? with a knife in R

I am doing an introductory R directory for my company. I am doing a small demonstration of the help function R (shorthand)

?mean

This is in a piece of attire:

 <<eval=FALSE>>= ?mean @

Output:

 `?`(mean)

I would prefer it to output it when I print it, i.e. ?mean not ?(mean) (with inverse conclusions). Does anyone know of a workaround for this?

Thanks!

Sorry if this is a recurring question or has a very simple solution - this is not an easy topic to search for!

Setting tidy=FALSE will give you the result you are looking for:

 <<eval=FALSE, tidy=FALSE>>= ?mean @

Output

 ?mean
