Android File Transfer cannot see the folder created by the application

I installed "Android file transfer" on Mac. My application creates a folder and creates a file in it (permissions exist in AndroidManifest.xml), writes some data to this file. The file exists, I can access it using the standard file manager on my Android device. It shows many folders, including my folder, and I even see the contents of my file on the device.

But the problem is that “Android file transfer” shows me all the other folders, but not my folder and file. I even tried to create only one file, not a directory. The same result.

Disconnecting the device or restarting the "Android file transfer" did not help.

Maybe “Android file transfer” doesn't work?

No.

In Android 3.0+, you will need to index your file with a media scanner before it can be seen through MTP on your Mac. The static scanFile() method on MediaScannerConnection is your best IMHO option.

I had a similar problem. For Android 6.0.1, just rebooting the device solved the problem.

Here is a simple tool that calls the Android Media Scanner.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.addz.mediascanner&hl=en

Install it on your Android device, run it, and the missing files should appear in Android File Transfer on your computer.
