Language Integrated Query (LINQ) for Java

Question

I found several questions regarding SO regarding LINQ for Java, for example.

• LINQ Tool for Java
• Is there something like LINQ for Java?

However, these questions were asked during 2008-2010. At that time, the Java language did not support the necessary language function, such as lambda expressions (according to Jon Skeet's answer ).

Now that Java8 is about to appear and possibly provide features like Lambda Expressions, do you think LINQ for Java implementation will probably come soon?

Have you heard of any project trying to fill this gap between Java and C #?
