What is the fastest way to create a large number of contacts?

In my application, I need to create a large number of contacts.

The code I'm using is:

For some numbers of contacts, the code works fine, but if I create a large amount, then this code will slow down. So my question is: what is the fastest way to create a large number of contacts?

If you can synchronize with gmail, you can import contacts to gmail.com (like CSV) and synchronize them with your phone.
