Android widget does not update when application is updated

Question

We are working on a new version of the application, which includes changes to the user interface level in the widget. The new height of the widget is 3 lines, and the current height of the widget is 2 lines. Now, when we update the application, it does not update the widget if it is already on.

Someone can confirm whether we are missing or ignore everything that may be causing a messy widget when updating the application. We need to update the widget as soon as the application is updated.

Please note that the widget works great if the user deletes and adds it again after updating the application.
