Transparency against a white background in Inkscape

I use Inkscape and I know how to use transparency in the image, but it annoys me that the background of the Inkscape workspace is white. I looked through a lot of settings, but no luck.

How to get a workspace like in GIMP?

White workspace is really annoying if you create something in white

A very ugly solution is to create your own checker background and use it as a locked bottom layer :) Im doing something similar when I mess around with iOS icons or elements that will be in the background.

Just like mentioning juve, you can try the grid property.

You can change the background color in Inkscape by changing the properties of the document (in the File menu)

First of all, a hint of transparency. If you export images with transparency, for example, to PDF (for printing), they are converted to raster images inside the PDF or produce unwanted results. Export to non-vector formats must be accurate. I suggest avoiding transparency, there is usually a way to simulate transparency, for example, simply using light gray for shadows. Also do not use blur effects; similar problems with exporting PDF.

Now on the board: This is not possible, one way would be to add a full-sized box and select the black control panel as the fill. Place this field on a separate layer and lock the layer. You can also lighten this block using one of the filters. Unfortunately, this board will not change when scaling.

This may not be the solution, but the grid will be a related option (press #). This is not behind your drawing, but in front. This can help you with positioning. Maybe you were looking for this?
