Problem installing Xamarin

I am trying to install Xamarin for Android, and I have some kind of problem, and I can not find any help anywhere. Even, I tried to start the installation as an administrator, but the same error persists:

As Chlebta said; try downloading the file directly.

I updated the URL to the latest version: http://download.xamarin.com/MonoforAndroid/Windows/mono-android-4.8.00013.msi

I had the same problem a second time.

Here are the steps that allow me to solve this problem:

  • Uninstall all Xamarin products (Xamarin Android, Xamarin Studio, etc.)
  • Go to the C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0 \ Common7 \ IDE \ Extensions folder and delete the Xamarin folder
  • Go to C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0 \ Common7 \ IDE \ Extensions and delete the Xamarin folder
  • Install Xamarin Studio or just mono-android-4.8.00013.msi as you need

Hope this helps (and hope the problem does not recur again).
