Android Add event to calendar using Intent, get EventID

I am trying to add an event through a calendar intent. However, I cannot figure out how to get the identifier of the event just added.

I read a lot on other resources and can not find the answer. I tried startActivityForResult, but I can't get it to work. The other methods that I am trying cannot verify until the action has finished.

Is there any other way to get the event ID after the event has been added to the calendar? I need to use the intention method for this.

Try this solution:

i copypasted this class from my project, so you can change the names as you wish. As you noticed here, get the id value after insertion.

If you need to get a reminderId or meeting id with participants, you need to process the return value from cr.insert... and then process uri long id = Long.parseLong(uri.getLastPathSegment());
