How can I share one branch with my default branch

I switched to a branch on my local repo and noticed that he gave me a message showing updated x files. This surprised me, because I did not know that there were any differences in this industry. How to compare this branch with the default branch to see what has changed?

Use hg diff -r BRANCH1:BRANCH2 , where BRANCH1 and BRANCH2 are branch names. This will show you the differences between the heads of the two branches.

The message “updated x files” appeared because the files were changed on the source branch, not necessarily because the files were changed on another branch. Mercurial shows you the union of sets of modified files from both branches.
