Different sizes of installed applications on different devices

The app apk file size is about 25 MB. When I install it (debug or release version) on my Sony Xperia (Android 4.0.4), the application size is about 30 MB. But some users complain that the size of the installed application is about 80 MB, for example, on the Galaxy Ace 2 device (Android 4.x). This is the size of the application immediately after installation.

How can the size of installed applications differ by more than 2 times on different devices?

I am using Android SDK Tools Rev. 22.3; Build-tools SDK 18.0.1.

Depending on your development environment and the options you choose, you are probably using what is called "Multiple APK Support."

To a large extent, you can optimize your application for different devices. Some people do this manually, testing a bunch of different emulators, but there are also settings that you can switch to automatically make some optimizations for you. Even if you didn’t do it on purpose, you’re probably using some settings from several APK applications.
