How to disable update in Umbraco backoffice

Can I disable the Umbraco update message in the Umbraco back office. My users do not have to see this.

In appSettings , web.config contains the key umbracoVersionCheckPeriod , which has a default value of 7. Set this value to 0 to prevent the "new version" from appearing.

EDIT:

For umbraco 7, this key may not be present in the default web.config file, but you can add it manually and the notification will disappear.
