What is the difference between expense and non-renewable subscriptions?

Apple, iOS, IAP.

The white paper says:

Product Type - Users can buy - Appears on receipt - Synchronized between devices - Restored

Consumable - Several times - once - not synchronized - not restored

Non-renewing - several times - once - according to your application - according to your application

Of course, the consumables can be made the same as when updating with “my application” if I want, and what exactly is the difference? Why does Apple distinguish between these two types, the same on its side?

Consumable items are individually purchased items. You should buy them every time you want. For example, in a game, if your life has ended and you want to continue playing, you can buy extra life (spent). When you use this life, if you need more than you need to buy another one.

Non-renewal refers to subscriptions. This is a purchase of a subscription to something for a certain period of time, which will not automatically renew / recharge after its expiration. For example, you buy a one-month subscription to a weekly magazine app that publishes new content every week. You buy this month, do not renew your subscription and get access to the contents of the application for a month. After a month, it does not automatically update and will not bill you.

All here:

Consumable (paid each time)

A consumed In-App purchase must be purchased every time a user downloads it. Disposable services, such as fish products, are generally sold as consumables.

Choose Non-Consumable (one-time payment)

Unused in-app purchases must be purchased once by users. Services whose validity does not expire or decrease use are usually carried out as non-expendable materials, such as a new race of tracks for the game application.

Choose Renewable Subscriptions (deduct money from your credit card at the end of the cycle)

Auto-renewable subscriptions allow the user to acquire renewal and dynamic content for a set duration of time. The subscription is updated automatically if the user does not select, such as a subscription to the magazine.

Choose a free subscription (no payment and still displayed even if you did not send your account to itunes connect)

Free subscriptions are a way for developers to post free content to Newsstand. As soon as a user signs up for a free subscription, he will be available on all devices associated with Apple ID users. Please note that free subscriptions do not expire and can only be offered in Newsstand-enabled applications.

Select "Non-Renewing" (must be updated manually)

Subscriptions not associated with the subscription allow the sale of services with a limited duration. Short-term subscriptions should be used for purchases in applications that offer time-based access to static content. Examples include a one-week subscription to a voice guide in a navigation application or a one-year subscription to an online catalog of archived video or audio.
