The device does not respond to the specified address

I just lost the morning trying to figure it out, and I finally did it. There is no hint of SO in this question, so I thought that I would post my experience and that ultimately worked.

I run ubuntu 13.10, and suddenly yesterday, when I connected my Android phone via USB, it could not connect. These are errors in / var / log / syslog

I tried all the solutions that I could use google and no one worked

  • turn off the computer and phone, wait a while, then boot and try again.
  • reconfigure and reinstall xserver-xorg and xserver-xorg-core
  • rmmod usb driver
  • send addr device to / sys / bus / pci / drivers / ehci _hcd / unbind

I tried a cell phone in my cable, and his phone did the same ... Please note that all this worked just a few days ago with the same cable. So, I finally tried the cable with which he worked, and I got a successful connection and installed the phone! Here is a new way out ...

So, if you tried all of the above options and still fail, your cable might have gone bad ...
