Multiple tabbed editor windows

Very often I work with several projects in MATLAB and have a group of files for each project that I access at the same time. Having all the files of all open projects causes a lot of interference in the workspace. This can be done for a single set of files using docking , which is well known. Is there a way for tab projects or have several MATLAB editors (for each project) open with several tabs in each (with project files). The question can be found here . In the same vein, are there other code editors that can be used to do the same?

Project1 file 1.m file 2.m file 3.m file 4.m Project2 file 1.m file 2.m file 3.m file 4.m

Either in the same window, or in different windows.

Unfortunately, I don’t think MATLAB can do this for project / file management for you, so I use Sublime Text 2. It is ideal for such project / file management ... and not to mention the huge shortcuts and quick editing tools to help you code faster.

Check them out: http://www.sublimetext.com/ . The only drawback is that it is nagware. It can be used freely if you can strip pop-ups to buy a copy of the software from time to time. When you buy it, the pop-ups will disappear. Try it and see how it happens!

If someone still needs a solution for this -

You can simply drag the tab of one file to the side or bottom of the editor space, for example:

And the result will be:

enter image description here

Now you can drag, like other tabs, into a new group of tabs, and you have two separate groups of tabs (but one editor window ...). You can, of course, drag the line of the middle edge to the right end and fully work only with the first group or drag it to the left end and fully work with the second.

Pay attention to one drawback here: if the line is at one of the ends, you do not see the tabs and file names of the hidden group, and if you forget that you opened a file there and try to open it again, you will not see it open or any changes in the IDE because the control goes to an already open tab, but you don’t see it.
