Local Srt Files with AVPlayer

Question

I am trying to cache srt files and play them using mp4 video files using AVFoundation AVPlayer. Streaming works with webVTT subtitles, but I also need to cache video and subtitles. I was wondering if this is possible or is there a possible workaround? Thanks in advance.
