How can I get the log for the paging ref pointer?

My ref-ref-submodel pointer was pushed back a few changes and I would like to know who made this change in our main repo, how can I do this? How can I get a log for reference only to a submodule? Because going through each transaction looking for a link to a changed submodule is not an option.

You can simply check the log for gitlink representing your submodule in the parent repo:

git log -- yourSubmodule 

No trailing '/' here: yoursubmodule is the name of the folder in which you loaded your submodule.
But this is also the name gitlink (special entry mode 160000 ) that writes this submodule in the parent repo.

Only those commits that change your gitlink link will be listed in this list.
