Android squared video recording

I am trying to record a video in square mode like instagram and vine.

So far, I have already experimented with the Camera and MediaRecorder classes, and have also tried various methods, such as adjusting the preview size or video size. But I can’t achieve the result.

What approach should I use to achieve square video resolution?

I can say that the following approaches can help me

  • Record a video and then crop it in square resolution (is there any lib to trim?)
  • Or the record itself should be in square resolution.

I ask you to advise or propose a new approach or trick.
