I love Notepad ++. He does everything I need for this. I donβt need an IDE fantasy, I compile with make files from the command line, and the projects I'm working on are not insanely huge, they just grew up without being small. This image describes my problem very well:

Is there any plugin for Notepad ++ that allows you to open a project right away using a simple project file? It should provide some kind of view in the tree of your project with only the files added to the project (so there is no * .pyc and stuff), and not do much more.
If this cannot be added to Notepad ++, then I am ready to try another editor that supports this, but is not a complete, heavy IDE. Therefore, answers suggesting a different but similar editor are also welcome.
