NuGet error while creating MVC4 project in VS 2012

I tried to create an empty MVC4 project in VisualStudio 2012 Ultimate, but I got this error:

"Error: this template tried to load the component assembly 'NuGet.VisualStudio.Interop, Version = 1.0.0.0, Culture = neutral, PublicKeyToken = b03f5f7f11d50a3a'.".

I believe that you have not installed the NuGet Package Manager extension.

If not, you can click TOOLSExtensions and Updates ...Online , select NuGet Package Manager and click Download :

enter image description here

After loading, you will be asked to increase the administrative height, and then restart Visual Studio.

Tested in: Visual Studio Ultimate 2012 (version 11.0.60610.01 Update 3)

UPDATE I just stumbled upon this problem in Visual Studio 2012. Therefore, despite some comments here, it is not necessarily installed by default.

i) Open Visual Studio> Tools> Extensions and Updates> select "NuGet Package Manager" and uninstall it. (if it is not installed, go to step 2)

ii) Open this url ' http://nuget.org ' and you will see the “Install NuGet” link, download it (NuGet.Tools.vsix) and install it on your Visual Studio.

iii) Close and reopen Visual Studio, and I believe that you will never see this error dialog like me; -)

Same problem.

"Error: this template attempted to load component assembly 'NuGet.VisualStudio.Interop .... " when creating a new Web Role project in VS 2012.

Selection:

  • TOOLS
  • Extensions and Updates
  • the Internet
  • Select NuGet Package Manager
  • Click Download
  • I could see that NuGet is already installed
  • I deleted it
  • installed it again
  • restarted VS

Decided.

Thanks for the info above + 1. Scott

you may want to find and check if the dll exists in \ Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0 \ Common7 \ IDE \ Extensions \ (it will be in the extension folder with other nuget binaries). If it does not exist, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling nuget. to remove: tools-> extensions and updates → installed (on the left panel) → nuget package manager; to install: tools-> extensions and updates → online-> visualstudio gallery → nuget package manager

Open Visual Studio and open “Tools” - “Open Extension Manager” or “Extension and Updates” → “Remove Nuget Package Manager” → Then download Nuget Manager from Online Gallery again and restart Visual Studio and you will not see an error message.
