Is JDK8 compatible with Windows XP?

I found that you can install JDK8 on Windows XP (to avoid an installation error - we need to change the jdk-8u11-windows-i586.exe using some HEX editor (for example, free XVI32) and change the RegDeleteKeyExA line with RegDeleteKeyA filling zeros instead the last two letters).

But I wonder if the JDK8 will work without additional problems - I mean related to various .dll and other Windows XP files?

The first link on Google:

Can I install Java 8 on Windows XP?

Java 8 is not supported in Windows XP, and users of Windows XP will not be able to install Java 8 on their systems, because there are known problems with the installer in Windows XP, which prevents it from installing without manual intervention. If you are on Windows XP, it is not clear what it is worth upgrading to Java 8 without updating the OS.

Microsoft does not support Windows XP, nor is it Oracle.

But it can be installed in Windows XP

You can install it, but it may or may not work. Even if it works, it does not mean that it is supported.
