Eclipse Luna dark theme (not really dark photos)

I downloaded Eclipse Luna 4.4 from eclipse.org . And I changed the theme to general > appearance > theme => dark . But that is not how I want.

Now enter image description here

The editor should work non-standardly, we (the Eclipse platform team) fixed this before the release of Luna, at least for JDT and CDT. I think you see a “Terminal” error, for example, if you turn on a new terminal (or download a version of Luna that includes this white background). This has already been fixed and should be included in release 4.4.1.

For more information about the error, see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=438175 .

Well, that’s what worked for me, easier than installing a completely new color theme. (on java 8 JRE on WinXP)

Settings → General → Editors → Text Editors: background color

uncheck "default system" and select "pure black"

Now go to the "current line selection" and make it your favorite shade of gray. RGB 60/60/60 works for me.

You have changed the interface, but not the color of your editor. Check out http://eclipsecolorthemes.org/ and set the color theme of your choice.

The right thing in Ubuntu is to set LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR = 1. My entire /usr/share/applications/eclipse.desktop file:

 [Desktop Entry] Name=Eclipse Type=Application Exec=env LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=1 /opt/eclipse/eclipse Terminal=false Icon=/opt/eclipse/icon.xpm Comment=Integrated Development Environment NoDisplay=false Categories=Development;IDE; Name[en]=Eclipse

The important part here is env LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR = 1 , which tells Ubuntu that it is good to use pretty orange stripes. Also note that my eclipse installation location is / opt / eclipse / eclipse; It may differ for you depending on how you installed. Use the path from an existing .desktop file.

I tried many SO themes related to Dark Theme in Eclipse in my Debian Stable (Jessie) \ Gnome shell window, but no one worked well. The key point in my case was to set SWT3_GTK = 1 and run the eclipse executable from the shell script. That is, create a script like this in the same directory where the eclipse executable is located:

 #!/bin/sh export SWT_GTK3=1 ./eclipse

You must also set the Eclipse color theme to select a dark theme. The themes "Dark" or "Sunrise" work well for me. In addition to this, install gnome-tweak-tool and enable the global dark theme. You can also install the Adwaita theme.

Restart the Gnome and Eclipse shell to make sure your settings are applied.

I tried a few of the answers listed here, and still had a white background in several views, such as workaround, outline, and problems. The solution for me was to change the dark theme on my OS (fedora 18), instead of changing the theme of my interface or editor settings.
