SQL formatting tool

Possible duplicate:
SQL Formatter for SQL Management Studio

So Visual Studio has a command like Format Document [Ctrl + K, Ctrl + D], is there something similar for SQL Management Studio?

If not, is there any other product out there anywhere that can help with this?

We have hundreds of them that we need to get through in a fairly short period of time, and since we spend WAY on a lot of time, reformatting them due to the poor quality of the original formatting.

We are using Microsoft SQL 2008.

You can try the SQL Formatter (on the website). I think there was a similar question a while ago.

Edit: Yup, duplicate the question.

Several tools are available. I found some commercial products to be very good for this:

These two work very well. Then you will find some free tools, but none of them worked well for me. :-(

All commercial products have a trial version. Try them in a virtual machine to make sure that they work for you or not. They are not cheap, so you want to know for sure that they work for you.

I can suggest you use SQL Complete . This tool has convenient formatting. You can also try the free version and see how it works.

Well, formatting the code online can be done through http://www.dpriver.com/pp/sqlformat.htm . They also provide a standalone version.

The SQL Assistant worked very well for me. This is a commercial product (not free), but it supports many editors at a reasonable price (IMO).

Try the Quest Software tools. See SQL Navigator / Toad for Oracle and / or Toad for SQL Server.
