Disable the display of the "output window" on each compilation

In VS2010, I noticed that the “output window” is displayed every time we compile the solution, even if we close it.

In VS2008, this was not so. I am not against this exit window. I prefer to look only at the "error window", and only if necessary. In VS2008, it was perfect.

How to disable the systematic display of the "output window" in VS2010?

Go to the "Tools", "Options", "Projects and Solutions" and uncheck the "Show output window" when starting the assembly.

So far the question is related to compilation. I came to this question, and I am sure that others will just turn off the output window completely.

So in addition to the accepted answer, I propose the following.

In VS2013 (versions may be more or less).

Tools > Options > Debugging > Output Window

There are a number of options for sending messages to the output window.

I just kept the unit test class when it appeared in front of me.

In VS2013 also:
Tools → Options → Source Control → Punch - Logging → uncheck the box “Show p4 command output for file operations”
