How to view a list of project files in vscode

I have a vscode project that I know contains too many files. When I perform a search, the system is distorted to search many files, and I get a small warning in the status bar for a while, offering to add files to .exclude files. The problem is that I don’t know where the extra files come from. I suppose that somewhere I missed some temporary files or data directories, but I cannot find them in the folder view. (I am sure that they are, but manually I do not see them)

So my question is: does vscode have a way to see the list, or ask for a list of all the files that are considered part of the project, so I can keep track of where I need the ones I don't need?

Things that will slow down your search are as follows:

  • Optional tracked folders with a large number of files in them ( dist , vendor , etc.)
  • Huge files

For # 1, you can perform a general search and see if strange folders appear in the search results. Add them to files.exclude in the settings, and then search again.

For # 2, open the built-in terminal and run the find ./ -size +5000 -print . This will find all files> 5Mb. For everything you don’t need to search, add the file (or the whole folder) to the lock list.
